Bridge Interest Group

The group meets at the Live Oak Senior Center, 1777 Capitola Rd, each Monday from 1–4. The cost is $2.00 per person (facility fee) and $1.00 for the winner’s jackpot. We have as many or as few tables as we have interested players, and we welcome newcomers! We currently have 2–3 tables.

On federal holidays when the center is closed we play at a member’s home. Each member serves as “host” for the weekly game at the Center, bringing light refreshments, tallies, and score pads, and coming a little early to set up. Everyone helps with cleanup.

We are not duplicate or rabidly competitive. We all want to improve our bridge skills; we all have at least beginning levels of bidding and play of the game skills, from various eras. Our members vary in experience and expertise. (If you’d like to learn to play, we can refer you to appropriate sources.)

Those who wish to play, email Mary or sign up on the schedule on bridge day; she puts people on the schedule in the order requests are received. Players receive an email reminder each Friday of the lineup for the following Monday. Players arrange their own subs when they must change a play date at the last minute.

The group continues year-round. The group is currently open to new members.
