Scholarships

Each year OLLI at UCSC offers scholarships to UCSC re-entry students. These students are returning to the university to complete their college education and are at least 25 years old or are veterans.

Partnering with the Services to Transfer and Re-entry Students (STARS) at UCSC, OLLI has benefitted many worthy students.

Because OLLI at UCSC is an all-volunteer institute, we are able to keep our membership and course fees (tax-deductible donations) lower than most OLLI institutes, which pay for professional administrators. Furthermore, most of these donations can support our scholarship program.

The Silvia Miller Scholarship Fund   

Silvia Miller was a founding member of Lifelong Learners, OLLI’s predecessor organization. Later in life she returned to UCSC to complete her Bachelor’s degree and recognized the need for special support for the re-entry students. Following her death, the fund she established for financial assistance for re-entry students was named in her honor. Donations to this fund are also tax-deductible and used exclusively for scholarships. Donate Here
